A New QCU Visa Credit Card


QCU strives to continuously improve our products and services to better serve you.
One such improvement is the introduction of QCU’s new Visa Credit Card that will replace your current credit card.

Why the change? This new Visa will offer:

Effective fraud alerts

Easy access to on/off alerts

Our goal is to make this process as easy for you as possible.


NOTE: If you plan to travel in early to mid-February, we ask that you call QCU’s Contact Center at 617-479-5558 by January 28 to let them know so we can help you avoid access issues to your current credit card while traveling.

What you can expect:

This February 2025, you will receive a NEW Visa credit card to replace your current credit card. Please note that the new credit card will have a different set of numbers and expiration date than your current card.

Receiving your New Card

Cards will be mailed by February 10. Keep it somewhere safe until it’s time to activate.

Last Day to use Old Card

After February 22, your old credit card will be deactivated and will decline purchases.

Activate New Card

Activate your new credit card per the instructions provided on the letter. Don’t forget to update your automatic payments, add your new card to your mobile wallet and destroy your old card.

Transactions

You can easily view and monitor your new credit card transactions with your QCU Mobile App.

Once you have activated your new card in February, you may need to update the following:

Bill payments
If you use Bill Pay in Home Banking to schedule your credit card payments, please update your payee address information

Recurring transactions:
If you have any recurring payments, such as subscriptions, or if you have any stored cards on shopping websites, make sure you update your payment information to use the new card after you activate it

Mobile wallet

Why is Quincy Credit Union issuing new Visa credit cards?

We continually strive to bring you the best products and services we can offer to our members. QCU has changed its credit card vendor to enhance our credit card program, bringing you new and updated features.

Do I need to update my scheduled payment to pay my credit card balance?

Yes, you will need to stop any payment that is scheduled by February 23, 2025 and reschedule via one of the following options:

  • Send payment to: P.O. Box 37603, Philadelphia, PA 19101-0603
  • Schedule a payment through QCU’s Bill Payment system
  • Stop by one of our branches
  • After February 23, you will be able to make on-time or schedule electronic payments through QCU’s online and mobile banking

What if I’m traveling when my new card arrives? Can I still use my current credit card?

If you won’t be home to receive and activate your new credit card on February 23, it’s important that you call our Contact Center by January 28, 2025 to let them know so we can help you avoid access issues to your current card while traveling.

When will the change occur?

You’ll receive your new card no later than February 22, 2025 and can activate it on February 23.

Will my credit card number change?

Yes, the credit card number, expiration date, and CVV number will be different than your current card. Once you activate your new card you can update your automatic and saved payment information.

Do I have to request a new credit card?

No. If your account is in good standing, you will automatically receive a new card by mail.

What should I do once I receive my new credit card?

On February 23 or soon thereafter, activate your new credit card by calling the number listed.

Are there costs or fees associated with replacing my current credit card?

No. There are no costs for fees associated with getting your new card.

Will the rate and terms change?

No, your rate and terms will remain the same.

Will my existing card alerts be converted to my new credit card?

No. You will need to establish alerts for your new credit card.

How long can I continue to use my current credit card?

You may continue using your credit card until February 22. After that date, all activity will be discontinued on the old card and you will need to begin using your new credit card on or after February 23.

Do I need to update my payment information with online merchants?

Yes. If you have recurring or saved payment information for companies such as Netflix, Amazon, Apple, etc, then you’ll need to add your new card number and expiration date to the account.
